Hi! I’m Shreen and this is Be You Be Free, a body positive health and wellbeing community. I am a Body Positive Personal Trainer and Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor. I help women have fun with exercise, find food freedom and body peace in a supportive, non-judgemental and comfortable community.


Be You Be Free is a body positive space. We are a supportive and non-judgmental community for all women. We do not focus on weight loss, transformations, or diets. Instead we we focus on fun and sustainable health and wellbeing behaviours such as intuitive eating, self-care, body respect, fun exercise, work-life balance and mindfulness amongst others

It started when I was asked to be a bridesmaid for one of my friends. I was unhappy with my body and I had already spent years on ‘diets’ that didn’t work. I dreaded having to wear a bridesmaid dress, and broke down in tears in the changing room after being measured. I couldn’t go on feeling that way anymore and I decided to go on one more diet, but this time I was determined not to "fail". 

I started eating a dangerous amount of low calories each day as well as overexercising, but it didn’t stop there. I just kept going and going. It was never enough. I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and an eating disorder. I never thought something like that would happen to me.

I can’t even find the right words to explain the pain, the loneliness and the fear. I was consumed by thoughts of food, exercise and weight. Nothing else mattered.


I started a very long and difficult path to recovery. It is undoubtedly one of the hardest things I have been through and I was nearly hospitalised during the process. I threw myself into recovery and learnt everything I could about health and wellbeing. I learnt about health at every size, intuitive eating, self-care, meditation, mindfulness’, connection, emotional wellbeing, and positive psychology. I slowly put these steps in place and began to recover. Don’t get me wrong, it was a long and hard journey and I fell down many times. But I got back up and each day got a little brighter and soon the dark days started fading away. When I recovered, all I wanted to do was help others who might be going through what I went through, or even better, prevent them from going through it.

I went back to university, trained as a body positive personal trainer and certified intuitive counsellor and started Be You Be Free and I now help other women join me in a life of happiness and freedom so we can all live our lives the way we are meant to.
